In order to produce billets, Deutsche Nickel GmbH's ingots are hot worked either by forging or hot-rolling. These billets are then supplied in the ground condition, typically with sharp edges, or with rounded edges if preferred. Depending on the intended application, the billets are then ultrasonically tested. The size range for these billets is from 100 - approx. 450mm, depending on alloy grade.
Subsequent processing of the billets then takes place in forging houses or hot-rolling mills to produce discs, flanges or rings. Furthermore the billets can also be used as raw material for profile manufacturers or to produce the blooms which are then processed into seamless tubes. Deutsche Nickel also uses their own billets as raw material for the manufacture of their wire and bar products.
The manufacturing processes are certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 14001 and ISO 50001.
The team of Deutsche Nickel GmbH is ready to help you with any questions, specific requirements or product selection.
