Dilaton Bars
The Iron-Nickel bars produced by Deutsche Nickel GmbH include the controlled expansion alloys Dilaton 36 (Alloy 36, 1.3912), Dilaton 41 and 42 (Alloy 42 and 1.3917), Dilaton 48 (Ni 48, 1.3922) and Dilaton 29/18 (NiCo 2918, 1.3981). Furthermore, the soft-magnetic grades W48 (Ni 48, 1.3922) and Dilaton 36M (Ni 36, 1.3911), with their slightly modified chemical composition according to DIN 17745, also belong to this alloy group.
These alloys are used in applications where controlled thermal expansion or particular magnetic properties are required.
Due to their special properties, these so-called sealing alloys are also suitable for applications involving bonding metal with glass or ceramic materials.
Typical applications include medical technology, as well as sensor, laser or measurement equipment.
